Dr. Desai is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and subspecialty Board of Gastroenterology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Gastroenterology.
Truly devoted to his patients, Dr. Desai always puts their needs first – and uses cutting-edge technology to get them back to health as swiftly as possible. He makes sure that patients are always able to schedule same-day appointments, and is one of the only gastroenterologists in the valley who performs the specialized Pill Cam procedure.
Dr. Desai works diligently to always keep his medical education current. He has received training at some of the world’s most prestigious institutions, including a residency in internal medicine at Boston Medical Center, part of the Boston University School of Medicine. He also completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School.
Originally from California, Dr. Desai performs a number of specialized procedures, including push enteroscopy, percutaneous feeding tubes, stenting, foreign body extraction, upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and many more. In the past, Dr. Desai served as clinical fellow and Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His awards include two “Active Teacher in Family Medicine” awards, from the American Academy of Family Physicians in 2007 and 2011. He is proud to volunteer as a medical consultant for indigent patients through the Northridge Hospital Foundation.
